Light and Darkness: Mrs. Regan On Modesty

Mrs. Regan, Jenna and Josh's mom, has recently posted some excellent thoughts on modesty on her blog. I would love to encourage anyone who has had questions or who has convictions to read it HERE!

I Have Not Lived In Vain

If I can be a servant
along life's dusty road,
Or ease a heavy burden,
or share a traveler's load,
If I have loved the friendless
or soothed a burning pain,
My life has not been wasted,
And I have not lived in vain.

If I have caused one face to smile
where once was only tears,
Or lifted up a heavy heart
burdened down by mirthless years,
If I can to a desert soul
be a cool and lovely rain,
Then my life has not been wasted,
And I have not lived in vain.

If I can to a sad heart bring
the hope of joy and peace,
Or from the wicked sin-stained chains
a prisoner release,
If I can to a searching soul
make the path to Heaven plain,
My life will not be wasted,
And I have not lived in vain.

If maybe to a dreamer's heart
a companion I can be,
And maybe share with them a sight
that only dreamers see,
Or if I can catch a falling star-
set it in the sky again-
Then my life has not been wasted,
And I have not lived in vain.

If I look back at what I've done
all through the years,
And think of one place, along the road,
where I've helped to lessen tears
Or I see the footprints of a soul
who I've helped the Way to gain,
My life has not been wasted,
And I HAVE NOT LIVED IN VAIN!
